In order to help you choose among hundreds of spy sunglasses available, here are a few pointers to consider:

  • Sunglass design. If you will be using these products for covert activities, it is recommended to choose models which look like regular sunglasses, most preferably popular brands such as Wayfarers and Ray Bans. Doing so will make it less obvious and maintains your cover. On the other hand, if you will be using it for recording events and sports activities, any design will do.
  • Resolution. The higher the resolution, the better the video quality. Devices can have resolutions as low as 320 x 240 pixels up to as high as 1280 x 1024 pixels. This is very important if you need to have high quality video output.
  • Batteries. Not all batteries are the same. Always choose a device with a good battery pack which can provide at least 2 hours of recording time.
  • Wired or Wireless Options. Devices either have wires that connect to an external DVR or have a wireless transmitter built-in. There are also devices which are Bluetooth-enabled.
  • Memory. The larger the memory capacity, the more videos and images can be stored. It is a good idea to expand the default memory by purchasing an external MicroSD card.
